I thought I might share my ravings with you all.....
Asus, MSI, and even Acer to an extent have never had the presence that Dell has always enjoyed. I'm going to make a prediction here, and I don't think I will be far off... It seems like the more advertising a company has, the more what they are selling becomes a staple in society... Look at the bevy of cell phones, GPS units, bluetooth headsets, and computing devices.....
Dell has introduced the 9... And in doing so... I believe... has opened up the Pandora's Box of netbook use.
Nobody advertises as big as dell. We are going to be seeing netbooks on tv (ads, and shows i'm assuming... CSI always has the latest 'fad' gadgets) All over the web, (even more so than now) And worst of all, Under the arm of every person in the world....
Bu wait! "Why is that bad Jair?!?!?", you might ask.... Well. I shall explain... Netbook use has started out with an honest premise: Use the damn thing wherever, whenever, for whatever reason, right? Its a small alternative to carrying around a boat anchor of a laptop. Now here comes what I see as the problem.
With Dell's new introduction into the market, we are going to become inundated by hundreds more netbook versions. The valley girls are going to be holding a poodle under one arm, a netbook in the other. Mark my words: It is going to become a fad. A trend. A joke. We have all been fairly serious in our discussions of netbooks, but I see it becoming a silly thing that is going to get WAY out of hand. God help us all.
