And so, here is my second installment in my quest to catalog games that will run on our very bestest friend: the AA1.
Today we are showing a clip of Guild Wars. Seeing as how all of the expansions are running on the same engine, the specs don't change, and therefore (at least to me) the expansion I am testing on just plain doesn't matter. Unless you are in one of the bigger towns, that is. Just to note, I took this vid the other day, right after shooting the Spore vid, so the quality is about on par. Sorry about that.
Required Specs: (via Guildwarsonline.com)
Windows XP/2000/ME/98
800 MHz Pentium III or equivalent
256 MB RAM
ATI Radeon 8500 or GeForce 3 or 4 MX with 32MB of video memory
500 MB hard drive space
Internet connection
DirectX 8.0
Recommended System Specs:
Windows XP/2000/ME/98
Pentium III 1GHz or equivalent
512 MB RAM
ATI Radeon 9000 or GeForce 4 Ti Series with 64MB of video memory
500 MB free hard drive space
Internet connection
The verdict you ask? Totally playable so long as you dont have some uber crazy gaming rig you are comparing it to.
Edit: after watching the video, I need to point out that I wasn't really paying attention to the game, I was trying to keep the camera still, while at the same time, repeatedly spamming Barrage. That is why I died. I actually don't suck at the game as it would appear. Ok, justification time over.
