So, I have been researching the AA1, seeing as how mine will be here in 3 days.... I have found that they have had a SERIOUS bios issue where the unit becomes bricked. I have a theory about this: A lot of the users at the aspireoneuser.com forums had installed extra memory before their units died, some updated the bios as well. Eee Pc's have this issue whereby if you used sub-par ram, and then tried to speed up the processor, the unit would fritz out. Atom processors have speedstep integrated. I'm willing to bet that the processor is trying to step up in speed too fast.
Anyway, I'm going to go over to the forums and mention that.
In the event that you do end up getting a bricked/dead aspire one, try this before sending it back in for repair:
